The Toyota Yaris Sedan and its brother, the hathback, continue to be produced , seven years after the 4Runner recall, which was completed in 2009. The reason for this delay was that the Value was Beyond the Belief concept choosing for manufacture the new Vios, as the Yaris Sedan would share the platform with the so called vehicle. Now that this project was coming to export the new Vios like a global model with world-class standards, the new generation of the Yaris Sedan was developed from the XP150 platform. The official launch of the new generation of the Yaris Sedan was presented in Toyota Motors Philippines, being transferred to the city of Santa Rosa where the local variant of the Vios will be manufactured.

This new generation of the Yaris Sedan is produced at Toyota’s factory in Santa Rosa (Philippines) along with Honda City and Hyundai Accent. This is the first model manufactured with the same platform. This new generation retains only the name of the previous generation. Compared to the second generation, the new Yaris Sedan is 255 mm longer, 43 mm wide and lost 17 mm in total height, while its wheelbase was lengthened by 146 mm. The weight was reduced by an average of 107 kg.
This new edition both the three door edition and the five doors have a length of 3885 mm (10 mm more than in the 2nd generation) a height of 1510 mm and 1695 mm wide. Its turning radius is 4.8 meters, uses a MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsional rear axle suspension. In the braking system ventilated discs are used on the front wheels and solid discs on the rear wheels.
The aerodynamic coefficient is 0.287 in all its versions.
