The Dodge Caliber is a new introduction for the 2007 model year. The Caliber is intended as a replacement for the venerable Dodge Neon, which has been sold by DaimlerChrysler since the 1995 model year. The Caliber shares the aggressive and muscular styling cues found on its more expensive siblings such as the Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum, and Dodge Durango. However, the Caliber is still designed to appeal to the same buyer group as the Neon.
A starting MSRP of just over $14,000 makes the 2007 Dodge Caliber the least expensive car in the Dodge lineup. The wagon, hatch, sedan crossover styling of the Caliber puts it in square competition with the MAZDA3, Toyota Matrix, Chevrolet HHR, Pontiac Vibe, and the Caliber’s Chrysler cousin, the Chrysler PT Cruiser.
